Student journalists have more to worry about than censorship from their administration. Students at Wesleyan University have filed a petition to defund the student newspaper, The Argus. This comes after Argus staff writer Bryan Stascavage ran an opinion piece critical of the Black Lives Matter movement.
In response, members of the student community presented a petition of 150 signatures to the Wesleyan Student Assembly outlining a list of demands for the paper and pushing to defund the Argus if they fail to meet them.
